New Make Money Blog greeted by Web Spam
By Tyson on Jun 5, 2007 in Blogging Tips
Well, I guess it happens to everyone eventually. Today I was plagiarized by a site that by Google’s is web spam. A site that says it focus to help people ‘Make money with Google Adsense‘ took my review of OnlineOpportunity.org and figured they would cut and paste into a post that looked as if it contained several other post probably pulled from various RSS feeds. I just happen to offer a full RSS feed, so my full article made it’s way onto a site that is just focused on having you click one of it’s 3 336X280 adsense ad areas. Just look at how the site looks at 1024X768 - this is pure abuse of adsense.

There is no contact e-mail for the site and the entity that register the domain has privacy enabled. So their really is no way to contact the site owner to ask them to remove my article or give me proper credit.
What can I do in this situation then? Well, this is just one of many lessons I am sure I will learn as I work to build my blog. My primary take away from this lesson is that I definitely need a ’signature’ appended to each post I make. In this signature I plan on informing the reader that I have a full RSS feed that they can subscribe to.
Thanks to Jay over at OnlineOpportunity.org for letting me know that it only took 14 hours for someone to plagiarize my post. He also recommended a signature plugin, so I am heading off to find such a plugin.
